During the Mangkaja Arts - Fitzroy High School three-month artist-in-residence program, a group of girls from Fitzroy Valley District High School worked with Sarah Mist to design and make fashion with a distinctive local flavour. The dresses were entered into the Apex Teenage Fashion Awards, held recently in Perth, winning first and third in their categories. The next step with the support of the whole community, took the girls and dresses to the National Apex Teenage Fashion Awards in Sydney, early October, where they have won their category.
